District Leaders Ben Wetzler and Kim Moscaritolo are hosting a phone bank Wednesday, June 13th in support of Long Island Congressional Candidate Liuba Gretchen Shirley. Liuba is the founder of New York’s 2nd District Democrats, a grassroots political organizing group created to combat the Trump Administration's policies locally.

Liuba is running with the hopes of securing the Democratic nomination to go up against Republican Rep. Peter King. Her opponent in the primary is the hand-picked candidate of Suffolk County Democratic Party boss Richard Schaffer, who has unabashedly made deals with local Republicans to let them win congressional and state legislative seats in exchange for allowing him to maintain control locally. Given FFDC's support of efforts to reform and strengthen our own county party we felt it was important to provide whatever assistance we can in the lead-up to the June 26th primary.
