FFDC Hosts Rep. Maloney and AM Seawright at Virtual Meeting

In response to COVID-19, the FFDC went virtual for is March meeting, hosting Representative Carolyn Maloney and Assembly Member Seawright in an on-line town hall.

Using Zoom virtual town hall technology, member participated through computer or by dialing in on your phone.  Over 80 people logged in to the virtual meeting and over 400 watched the live stream on Facebook. Members heard from and asked questions to the following individuals:  

  • Representative Carolyn Maloney on the Federal Response to COVID-19
  • Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright on the New York State response to COVID-19
  • Dr. Dana Mazo, an infectious disease specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital, spoke on efforts to contain the pandemic
  • District Leader Kim Moscaritolo reported of the FFDC Neighbors Helping Neighbors program.

Representative Maloney and Assembly Member Seawright both praised the FFDC for it leadership in moving political activism online in this time of social distancing. The event was  also praised by local media.

Commenting on the meeting, FFDC President Jerry Ferguson said: "Now more than ever it is cricital that community organizations be there for their members. The Four Freedoms Democratic Club is proud of its innovative role in promoting virtual engagement during the COVID-19 crisis, and iwll continue to look for ways to encourage political activism and promote our members' interest throughout this crisis.
