Though Senator Jose M. Serrano's district has been severely gerrymandered over the course of his almost-ten years in office, his representation of Roosevelt Island and Carl Schurz Park has remained constant.  A former member of the City Council, Senator Serrano has consistently fought for increased affordable housing and green space in his district, and to that end is currently the ranking member on the Senate Parks & Recreation Committee.

The club is honored to have had Senator Serrano speak at our April meeting.  We are looking forward to helping him secure a place on the primary ballot, for which he does not yet have any challengers, and successfully campaign for another term in office this November!
