Today, Brad Lander earned the #1 endorsement of the Four Freedoms Democratic club, expanding his support into the high voter area of Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
“I’m honored Four Freedoms believes I’m the best candidate to be the next mayor of New York City, to put an end to the corruption in City Hall and solve our city’s housing crisis that is crushing so many,” said Brad Lander. “It’s time New York lives up to the democratic values we’ve long championed, by standing up to fascist bullies like Donald Trump and preventing another corrupt politician like Andrew Cuomo from ever stepping foot in Gracie Mansion.”
"The Four Freedoms Democratic Club proudly endorses Brad Lander for Mayor," said Four Freedoms President Jerry Ferguson. "Brad is an experienced city leader who has leveraged his roles as a city council member and Comptroller to advocate effectively for New Yorkers and oppose the Trump administration. His genuine commitment to the health, safety, and dignity of our city goes beyond mere rhetoric and soundbites; he is the champion we need and deserve. Over the next two months, Four Freedoms members will work diligently across the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island to secure his decisive victory in both the Democratic primary and the general election."
Earlier this week, Lander earned the #1 endorsement from Make the Road Action and CUFFH Action, and support from Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez and six other Brooklyn democrats: Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso, State Senator Julia Salazar, Assemblymember Emily Gallagher, and City Councilmembers Jennifer Gutiérrez, Sandy Nurse and, Lincoln Restler.
Lander has the deepest and widest coalition of any candidate in the race, with support from Congressman Greg Casar, NYC Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, State Senators Liz Krueger and Andrew Gournardes, Assembly Members Khaleel Anderson and Robert Carroll, and Councilmember Tiffany Cabán.
Lander recently secured the endorsements of the Working Families Party, Make the Road, and College Democrats of America. He leads the mayoral pack in Democratic club endorsements, including Indivisible Brooklyn, 504 Dems, Unity Dems, Three Parks Democrats, Broadway Democrats, Village Independent Democrats, Upper West Side Action Group, Hell’s Kitchen Democrats, Bay Ridge Democrats, Independent Neighborhood Democrats, New Kings Dems, and Central Brooklyn Independent Democrats.
Lander has also received endorsements from UAW Region 9A, New York Progressive Action Network, JFREJ, Emgage, and NYC Organization of Public Service Retirees. Lander’s campaign has raised over $7.2 million and will soon surpass the mayoral race’s $8.3 million spending cap.
