Candidates for District Leader

On Tuesday, September 12th, please vote for our candidates for district leader. All four of them want to build a progressive, transparent Democratic Party, and will be active in organizing local residents to fight for what we believe in. Find out if you can vote for Ben, Esther, Kim, or Adam at nyc.pollsitelocator.com.

Part A (south of 78th Street; Roosevelt Island)

Ben Wetzler (voteben.nyc): Ben has had an extensive career in public service. He was born and raised here on the Upper East Side and moved back to the neighborhood in 2016. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University, Ben spent three years working for the State Division of the Budget in Albany. There, he helped lead efforts to streamline the State bureaucracy and deliver better performance for New Yorkers from their government. He now works as a senior policy analyst at the State Division of Housing and Community Renewal developing affordable housing policy and working to improve the enforcement of the State’s tenant protection and rent stabilization laws.

Esther Yang (voteesther.org): Esther is a former board member of the Organization of Chinese Americans and a former Bellevue Hospital Community Advisory Board member. She has worked with Comptroller John Liu as his Community Coordinator. Besides volunteering as a Community Organizer, Esther teaches and runs various after-school programs and an anti-bullying program that encourages kids to be kind and be great leaders. She is endorsed by former Comptroller John Liu.

Part B (north of 78th Street)

Kim Moscaritolo (votekim.org): Kim is the female district leader for the 76th Assembly District, Part B. She has served in this position since 2015. Prior to her election as district leader, Kim served as president of the Four Freedoms Democratic Club (2014) and president of the Manhattan Young Democrats (2012), among other leadership positions. Her reelection campaign is endorsed by Rep. Carolyn Maloney, State Senator Liz Krueger, Assembly Member Rebecca Seawright, Council Member Ben Kallos, and former Council Member Jessica Lappin.

Adam Roberts (adamrobertsnyc.com): Adam is the male district leader for the 76th Assembly District, Part B. He was elected district leader in 2015, defeating a long-time member of the State Assembly. Inspired by a high school internship for Senator Chuck Schumer, Adam has spent nearly a decade in public service. Since then, he has worked on the successful campaigns of numerous elected officials, including Comptroller Scott Stringer, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and Council Member Ben Kallos. Like Kim, he is also proud to be endorsed by Carolyn Maloney, Liz Krueger, Rebecca Seawright, Ben Kallos, and Jessica Lappin, as well as Scott Stringer.
