This April, we continued our work of integrating the new activist groups on the Upper East Side into the structure of the Democratic Party. In addition to partnering with Indivisible UES, we have also begun working with Keep the Momentum Going (KTMG). KTMG is another Indivisible affiliated group, though it is focused primarily on city and state issues, ensuring that our local elected officials stay accountable to their progressive constituents. Its membership has a ton of enthusiasm, and will be working with us on a grassroots activism on the UES, such as registering new voters.

Within the Four Freedoms Democratic Club, we have taken leading roles within the Events and Activism Committees. April saw the Events Committee put together the huge successful Spring Soiree. The event raised over $16,000 and had over 100 attendees. We were proud to have been joined by Borough President Gale Brewer, Council Member Ben Kallos, and Council Member Dan Garodnick. Our gracious hosts were Vlasta and Vit Stuchl, owners of Bohemian Spirit Restaurant. Their restaurant is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, keeping the UES’s historic Czech, German, and Hungarian heritage alive.
