May General Meeting

Join our May General Meeting!  We will be at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 East 88th Street, The Sanctuary (main church)

Featuring:
NYS Assembly Member Linda Rosenthal
Nan Mead, Director of Outreach and Communication, Center for Educational Equity, Teacher’s College at Columbia University

The Four Freedoms Democratic Club Education Working Group is excited to sponsor this panel discussion on the vital need to teach students the skills to critically evaluate information. During this challenging time of misinformation, made worse by social media and AI, students need to be able to distinguish between fact and fiction. This timely panel of experts will provide details about how media literacy education prepares students for civic engagement. Panelists will discuss legislative and policy advocacy that will advance media literacy for students throughout the state.
