Trump has fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions and replaced him with a political hack in a brazen effort to interfere in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Here’s what we know:
- "Acting Attorney General" Matthew Whitaker is replacing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in supervising the Mueller investigation.
- Whitaker has long advocated for limiting or completely shutting down the Mueller investigation.
- This is a clear attempt from Trump to interfere with and undermine the investigation.
- Whitaker absolutely cannot oversee this investigation.
