The Four Freedoms Democratic Club is outraged by President Trump's lawless acts over the past day, from banning transgender people from joining the military, to pardoning abhorrent racist ex-sheriff Joe Arpaio. These inexplicably cruel actions have once again made it plain that the Trump administration supports the forces of hate and discrimination, not progress and justice.

We ask that Congresswoman Maloney, Senator Schumer, and Senator Gillibrand call for immediate hearings into the illegality of these and other recent actions, and urge Senators Schumer and Gillibrand to refuse to confirm any of the administration's lifetime judicial appointees while the president evinces such clear disregard for the rule of law. Meanwhile, we stand with every resident of the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island who is as angry and hurt as we are, and we look forward to continuing to resist the Trump administration in every way possible.
